Urban Spatial interventions as Environmental Care

This work focus on the design of a series of urban spatial interventions to deal with the environmental disputes caused by the urbanisation process and climate change in San Pedro de Atacama, Northern Chile. Technical urban planning implementations and urban spatial interventions are explored in this design-based thesis, to advocate architectural and microclimatic strategies to improve soil permeability, alleviate soil salinization, and slow down the flood disaster.
